I just wanted to say thank you for your patience and understanding throughout my time in CBT therapy. Being able to openly speak to you about how I feel, my anxiety and the triggers has been life changing. I remember when my anxiety kicked off for the very first time and everything seemed like a blur, where no one understood why I felt the way I did. Explaining to people that I’m having heart palpitations, my legs are trembling and I’m feeling nauseous etc, became a daily occurrence and although my symptoms were very physical, everyone was under the impression that I’m lacking vitamins rather than it being something completely different which was anxiety.
I’m grateful that you would listen to my thoughts and opinions and you would show me that every situation needs to be looked at in the wider context. I’ve also learnt from you that stress is inevitable, but the way I manage it, is what will impact me in the future. The breathing techniques, doing the body scan and making sure I get enough exercise every day really does make a difference to day-to-day life. Also, sleep deprivation really kicks everything sideways!
I’ve learnt from you that it is completely ok to let people know that I have anxiety, especially when travelling. Also, I should try to challenge myself when my brain says “you can’t do it”, as this is what will allow me to beat anxiety.
I’m appreciative for your constant support throughout my CBT therapy journey and although I feel confident in the person I have become now, I shall miss not having therapy sessions with you! I have learnt a lot from you and I shall continue using the different methods to keep my anxiety minimal.
Thank you once again, Jana
KS
